You begin in Jaipur — the Pink City — then the Taj Mahal at dawn in Agra. Into tiger country at Ranthambore, where tigers roam among ancient Rajput fortresses. Then south to Kanha for the finest forest scenery in central India.

What to Expect
Moments That Stay With You
The Golden Triangle
Jaipur, Agra, and the Taj Mahal at dawn — India’s most iconic cultural circuit, done in luxury and at a pace that lets you actually feel it rather than rush through it.
Tigers Among Ruins
Ranthambore is unique — tigers hunting in the shadow of a 10th-century Rajput fortress. The combination of wildlife and heritage makes for safaris unlike anywhere else in India.
Kanha’s Forest Grandeur
After the palaces and the history, Kanha’s vast sal forests and open meadows feel like a different world entirely. The perfect finale — quiet, wild, and genuinely restorative.
When to Go
Timing Your Royal India Safari
This itinerary runs November to January — the ideal window for both the cultural sites and the tiger reserves.
Ideal Window
November — January
Cool, dry, and clear across both Rajasthan and central India. The Taj Mahal glows in the winter light, Jaipur’s palaces are at their most beautiful, and tigers in Ranthambore and Kanha are active and visible.
Extended Season
February — March
Temperatures begin to rise but game viewing is outstanding — particularly in Kanha and Ranthambore. The cultural sites are still very comfortable and visitor numbers begin to thin after the peak winter season.
Shoulder Season
October
The reserves reopen after monsoon and the forests are lush. Slightly warmer than peak season but a good option for those who want lower prices and quieter parks.
Avoid
June — September
Monsoon season. Core zones close, Rajasthan is extremely hot, and this itinerary is not available during this period.
💡 Debashri’s tip: December is my favourite month for this itinerary. The light in Rajasthan is extraordinary — warm and golden — and the tigers in Ranthambore are active in the cool mornings. Kanha in December has a stillness to it that stays with you. If you’re celebrating something special, this is the one.
