You begin in Delhi, then fly south into the sal forests of central India. Pench and Tadoba are 2 of India’s finest tiger reserves — each with its own character, its own cast of tigers, and guides who know the animals by name. Then north to Agra, where the Taj Mahal awaits in the first light of morning before the crowds arrive.

Pench
3 full days in Pench. Morning and afternoon safaris through teak and bamboo forest. Tigers, leopards, wild dogs, and over 250 bird species. Guides who know the resident tigers by name.

Tadoba
Drive to Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve — Maharashtra’s oldest and largest national park, and one of India’s best reserves for tiger sightings. Afternoon safari on arrival.

Tadoba
3 full days in Tadoba. Known as the Tiger Capital of India — sighting rates here are among the highest of any reserve. Morning and afternoon drives through dry deciduous forest, bamboo groves, and open meadows.

Agra
Fly from Nagpur to Delhi, then onward to Agra. Check in at your hotel. Evening visit to Mehtab Bagh for a sunset view of the Taj Mahal across the Yamuna River.
